About Me

Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!

My name is Rachel! However you stumbled on this site, I’m honored to have you.

I’ve been blogging for over 10 years, but I primarily worked on this website during junior-high and high school. I dabbled in podcasting and book reviews, interviews and teaching, and over the years, this site was a place to explore my interests and sharpen my skills (watch out for the archives, they scare me). Starting in 8th grade, I was published on theReb several times, became a book reviewer for Crossway and Moody Publishers, and wrote for a magazine (my first ever paid article!). As a college student, I’ve discovered a passion for poetry, but I continue to experiment with many forms of writing. Now, my writing efforts are mostly poured into work and school, but I determined to always have a place I can enjoy writing.

I’m not a perfect Christian trying to preach to you. Far, far from it. I’m a flawed, broken person just trying to tell others about the one who saved my soul and gave me a reason to live.

I am broken, but I know someone who isn’t. I know Jesus, and He’s given me peace and purpose in this crazy world. I want others to know Him like I do, and writing is the easiest way for me to share what He’s teaching me. 🙂 Knowing Jesus makes life beautiful. I want you to see that too.

Joyful Creations was initially aimed towards teen girls, but the audience has broadened over time (once again, you can refer to the evidence in the archives, but the archives scare me, so I will not be doing that with you hahaha). Welcome to my digital vault, as I look for significance in the mundane parts of life and seek the joy of the Lord.

 Enjoy!

~Rachel

Note: some of my articles begin with illustrations that are based on my experiences. Please note that a few of these illustrations are not specific events but are based on multiple circumstances. Although they might be from different occasions, they are still true.
