Hey there!  Thanks for stopping by!  

My name is Rachel.  Welcome to my little corner of the internet.  I’m a teen girl, and I hope to encourage other teens through my writing to be productive and effective, to love and serve others, and to love God.  I love sunny days, the feeling after a good run, and making lots of schedules and lists.  

I’ve officially been blogging for five years, but I’ve been working intentionally on Joyful Creations for about two years.  I’ve been published on theReb several times, and I am a book reviewer for Crossway and Moody Publishers.  

I’m not some perfect Christian trying to preach to you.  I’m a flawed, broken person just like everyone else.  I have crazy mood swings and can get excited quickly.  I like to run and swim, but I also have a giant sweet tooth.  I enjoy hanging out with my siblings and friends and making lots of memories, and sometimes I just put on my headphones and write for an hour.  I love deep discussions, but I also enjoy sports events where I can cheer louder-than-necessary.  I’m a military brat (child of a military person), and I love to write letters.  I’m a homeschooler, but I love to go places away from home.  I love adventures, and I love quiet days, too. 

My goal for this blog is to encourage other Christians and to spread the gospel.  Because of the internet, my words can be read around the globe!  I’m not a perfect writer (if that’s really a thing!), but I want to encourage you by writing to the best of my ability.  God is constantly teaching me, and because of this blog, I can share what I learn with you.  We as Christians often believe the lie that we are the only ones struggling with sin or wrestling with a theological concept.  I hope that when you start to read my writing, you’ll forget that lie.  We all struggle, and we all need God.  Let’s go to Him together and encourage each other to “fight the good fight”.  We’re in this together!  My goal is to give you someone to relate to, and to always point you to God and the gospel.

  Joyful Creations is aimed towards teen girls, but much of the content I write applies to men and women, young and old.  God’s message of good news is timeless, and our age doesn’t disqualify us from serving God.  My blog started out as a hobby and a place for craft tutorials, but it has turned into something more.  I write about what God is teaching me, and it’s amazing how God can use my imperfect words for His glory.  I include fun content and deep content, too.  I hope you’ll join me as I learn more about God, writing, and life.

    So cool, I’m also homeschooled, love Jesus, writing, deep discussions, cheering for sports (speaking of, what’s your favorite sport to cheer for? I’m a big football fan; NCAA and NFL. 😀 ) and YES!! Writing letters is AMAZING!! I just adore writing letters.
