Hello my beautiful people!!
I’m posting a couple days later than usual because I wanted to tell you all about the fun weekend I had!
Today, we have a book giveaway and a little challenge for the comment section – can’t wait to get into it!
But first, let me tell you about my girls-only road trip with my mom and sister😊
First, I went to my good friend Grace’s house (the friend from this podcast episode), and we went to a Revive Our Hearts recording the next day. I had such a wonderful time with her – we hadn’t seen each other for almost 2 years, and it was so refreshing to finally spend some time together.

Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth taught on the first question from the Heilberg catechism:
“What is our only comfort in life and death?”
“That I, with body and soul, both in life and in death, am not my own, but belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ, who with His precious blood has fully satisfied for all my sins, and redeemed me from all the power of the devil; and so preserves me that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that all things must work together for my salvation. Wherefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live unto Him.”
It was such an encouraging message, and a sweet reminder of the real hope we have in Christ. Even if my greatest dreams come true, I need Christ. Even if every plan falls through, I need Christ. He is my hope and satisfaction in life and death, and I have to remember that come what may.

Then we drove 9 hours to Maryland on Friday. I drank some coffee, worked on some school, and drove for 3.5 hours (most I’ve ever done in one sitting, plus it was on the highway in the rain lol).

After a yummy hotel breakfast, we met up with my aunt and grandma on Saturday to go to a wool/fiber festival. It was basically an exposition of all things to do with yarn/wool: knitting, needle felting, spinning, weaving… it was incredible seeing all the various passions and hard work from hundreds of different artisans. It’s neat to see people loving a hobby so much that they perfect their skill and enjoy the process.

It was very rainy, windy, MUDDY, and cold, but we had a wonderful time regardless.
I bought some maple candy and a drop spindle:)
We went to Applebee’s afterwards, and the food was delicious. We also had this incredible waiter who took all our orders by memory, multitasked like a champ, and noticed that I was out of water from across the room. It was honestly impressive.
That evening, I did a treadmill workout (hence why I had to shower and had sopping wet hair), and we did some yarn spinning in our hotel room. My mom learned how to knit socks too. 😊 I accidentally matched the spinning wheel with my outfit. XD

Sunday morning, we had another amazing hotel breakfast and after a little more spinning and knitting, we left to drive home!

Giveaway
For the recording, we each received a complimentary copy of Revive Our Heart’s new book, and it looks so good. It’s very readable and may be just the thing to kick off your summer reading. As you probably know, I’m very passionate about the idea of everyday people impacting the world. 🙂 God uses ordinary people to do great things through their consistent love and reliance on Christ, and this book really encapsulates that idea.

We haven’t done a giveaway on the blog in a hot second, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity!
Sorry, for US residents only:(
I will be putting some other things along with the book, but you have to win the giveaway to get the surprise. 🙂
Hope you guys have a fantastic week!!
Let’s Talk! (+ a challenge)
How can I (and the girls reading this post) pray for you this week? I know we’re at a difficult part of the year, and it would be so cool if we could “bear one another’s burdens” in an easy, personal way. Here’s my challenge: after you leave your prayer request in the comments, reply to someone else’s comment with “❤”, and commit to praying for them every day for a week.
I’ll go first: please pray that I would be content where God has me in life and wisely use the time that He gives me. Also- our good friends just had a baby and there have been quite a few complications over the last week with both baby and mom. Please pray for safety, a speedy recovery, and strength for their family. 🙂

Hey Rachel! I just discovered your blog through someone else’s blog. The WordPress community is great, isn’t it? I’ve heard Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth on Faith Radio, which is the (super amazing!) Christian radio station that I love listening to. You should take a listen, too! (My favorite show is Afternoons with Bill Arnold.) I wish I’d been here for the giveaway, but ah well!

Ahh I’m so happy to have you here Lily!! Ooh that’s so neat that you do needle felting! And now that I think of it, there was this really talented needle felter at the festival who might give you some inspiration: https://feltedsky.com/collections/painting-kits. (the products are pricey but you can at least look at the product pictures :D)
Thank you so much for your prayers. ❤ They got to take the baby home yesterday praise God!

Ohhh, it would be amazing to go to a Revive our Hearts recording! Looks like you had an amazing time!
Please pray for me to be able to rest and be still before the Lord. I’ve been really stressed recently for no good reason and I need to just “cast all my cares at Jesus feet.”

My prayer request: I need God’s help to stop procrastinating. It’s a bad habit cropping up in many areas of my life, and it’s already set me 4 weeks behind on math!

Prayers for grace in this season: that I would have grace for others, that they would have grace for me, and that I would feel His grace more keenly than ever before. Also, prayers for the healing of a little girl I know with mental and physical disabilities.
Also, I’m praying for you, Rachel.
