10 Things I’m LOVING This Summer

There are so many random things I want to share with you, and it can be hard to find a place to write about them. Today, I’m making a post to share with you 10 things I’m loving this summer (hence, the title;), and I can’t wait to begin!

LISTENING

1. Renegades by X Ambassadors

I’ve had this song on replay this last week. Check it out- maybe it’ll be your next favorite song!

2. Relatable with Allie Beth Stuckey’

I try to keep up with current events, but sometimes it’s hard to know how to approach controversial issues. Whether she’s analyzing politics or popular Christian beliefs, Allie Beth Stuckey doesn’t shy away from difficult topics and approaches everything from a biblical worldview. (Note: some of the content on Relatable is for mature audiences. If you are young, you may want to have an adult listen first.). You can find her on YouTube, Spotify, or whatever you use for podcasts.

P.S. This episode is actually one of the things that inspired me to write my first Christian Living post, How Humility Hit Me In the Face, that got me published for the first time on theReb and pushed me to take blogging more seriously. This is the first episode I listened to from her and I’ve been listening to her ever since.

READING

3. “Crafted In Imperfection” by Micah Carnes

Micah shared his experience with cerebral palsy and how he sees God working through it all. Be sure to stick to the end of the article to read his powerful conclusion. You can read his article here.

4. To Have and To Hold by Mary Johnston

I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction this summer, and I really wanted some good fiction to read. My mom handed me To Have and To Hold, and I loved it from the first chapter. It is historical-fiction, set in colonial Jamestown. The author packs adventure, romance, and history into a beautiful novel. I didn’t want the book to end! Check it out here (only 99¢ on Kindle!). I have the edited version by Vision Forum, so the Amazon version might be in older English.😉

EATING

5. Almond Butter

I know this seems random, but I recently fell in love with this stuff. I stumbled on almond butter because of my numerous batches of Marathon Energy Balls. My stomach can’t handle much before exercising, but I was completely fine with almond butter on a bagel before swim. It’s sweet but really healthy, and I highly recommend it. 🙂

6. Chocolate Energy Bites

I did a Bible and Breakfast book review a few months ago, and I’ve made these Marathon Energy Balls at least 4 times. It’s a healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth and any mid-day, midnight, or morning cravings.

WEARING

7. Gymshark Shirt

This shirt is probably the best hand-me-down I’ve ever received. It’s comfortable, breathable, and looks great. (I actually have the men’s version, but it looks fine as a women’s shirt. You can check out this shirt for women here.)

8. MudLOVE

I’m usually the type to forget jewelry. I like it, but I’m usually too active to wear anything fancy. I need something casual and durable, so when my good friend got me a MudLOVE bracelet, I was super excited. MudLOVE makes bracelets that are not only cute but also durable enough to take along for all my activities.

For every bracelet you buy, they provide a week’s worth of water for people in need.

LIFE

9. Cheering

If you’ve never cheered your teammates on until your voice is hoarse, you should seriously give it a try. Seriously though, I feel most like myself when I’m cheering at sports meets. I think it’s because once I get loud enough, self-consciousness or any attempt to keep up a perfect appearance goes out the window. I get entertainment from following the race so closely, and I support my friends.

10. BUJO

I’ve kept up with my bullet journal all year, and I’ve concluded that it is the very best way to plan and organize. It gets everything important into one space and encourages me to be creative.

Let’s Talk!

What are you loving this summer?

  2. Great list, Rachel! The Gymshark shirts look nice & comfortable. I enjoy AB Stuckey’s podcasts, as well; she’s smart and doctrinally sound. This summer, I’m enjoying the Bible Reading Challenge, spending time with the grandsons, doing some long-needed purging around the house and learning to use our Instant Pot. Tell the family we miss y’all!

    1. Thank you, Mrs. Rogier! I’m glad you’re doing well! We have an Instant Pot, but we haven’t tried anything too advanced yet. If you find some yummy recipes, my mom and I would love any cooking suggestions. Congratulations on the new additions to your family! I hope you have a wonderful rest of the summer. Say hello to everyone for us! We miss you too!

  3. Fun post! I like it when people write these because we get to see what kinds of things the blogger is interested in. 🙂 What I have enjoyed thus far this summer is Bible Bee (it is one of the best things I have done in my life!), improving my photography + sharing my photos online, getting more into story-writing, and pen-paling. Although this Summer is different, it has still been great!

    1. Thank you! Yeah, it’s always neat to see what another blogger is up to in their everyday life. That’s so cool! I did Bible Bee when I was younger, and it is such an amazing way to get more familiar with God’s Word. Thanks for sharing!
