ROH Recording and Valentine’s Day!

This was one of the best weeks I’ve ever had. It was fun, exciting, and challenging.

About 3 years ago, I was connected with a penpal through Clubhouse Magazine. We both love Jesus, and we share birthdays too. This past week I visited her, and we went to a Revive Our Hearts recording together. This was only our second time meet in person, so we could hardly wait.

I visited her church, and the next day we drove to the Life Action Ministries building to listen to Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth speak on Psalm 136. We got a behind-the-scenes look at how they record podcast episodes and listened to Nancy speak for 8 sessions. There were only about 50 other people, and we sat in the front row, so it was almost like we were one-on-one with her. By the end of the recording, we had talked to Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth multiple times, and she was kind enough to learn our names. She taught about Psalm 136 for all 8 sessions. I didn’t know anyone could gather so much from the Psalm. It is a seemingly simple passage, but it’s message is powerful. If I ever had thought I had reason to doubt God’s love, Psalm 136 eliminated that thought. Psalm 136 is very repetitive, and every other line says, “His steadfast love endures forever.” This phrase is repeated 26 times!

Nancy explained this sentence in depth and constantly reminded us that God is good. After all, if we are not sure of God’s love, what do we have? After you read this post, open your Bible to Psalm 136, and be reminded of God’s great love. All 8 sessions will be published/aired the week of Thanksgiving (2020). Eating lots of Goldfish with my penpal
Coming home on Valentine’s Day and receiving a bouquet of flowers from my brother. (It was so unexpected and kind, I HAD to include this!)

  1. I did read Psalm 136, and my wonder at Gods eternal love was renewed! I hope I can hear what Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth says about it! It’s a great Psalm!

  3. Wow, that sounds like such an exciting trip! And so sweet of your brother to give you flowers! Also, I think I recognize your pen-pal… she came to Checkpoint camp, right? 🙂
    You read CLUBHOUSE Magazine? I have a pen-pal through CLUBHOUSE too! Do you ever listen to the radio drama Adventures in Odyssey?

      1. I love Adventures in Odyssey!!! 😃 I’ve listened to almost every episode, too! It’s exciting for me to find someone else who likes it, because hardly anyone I know has heard of it!
        It’s so exciting that you have gotten to meet your pen-pal! Mine lives many states away, and I wish I could meet her!
