A Look Back and A Look Ahead…

Today I was notified that I have been blogging for 4 years. The first two years were slow, but 2018 and 2019 have been filled with leaps and bounds of progress.

Biggest Achievements

I would say my first big achievement was my blog post “How Humility Hit Me in the Face”. It was and is the article with the most overall views on my blog and helped me to focus and personalize my writing. Several months later, I edited the article and submitted it to therebelution.com. When it was accepted, I was EXCITED. Since then, I’ve been published two more times on theReb. Another big improvement to my blog has definitely been my email list. It has greatly improved discussion and personalization and has helped me to assess my progress and improve my blogging. When I look back and see how much has happened, I am so thankful to God! He is the One who has given me the ability to write, and He is the One who teaches me the lessons I write about!

What to Expect in 2020

  1. Continued improvement to my email list. I am planning to start adding videos, updates, printables etc. exclusively to the emails I send out. If you aren’t on my email list yet, you should sign up soon! 2020 should be a lot of fun! I am looking for suggestions, so please comment below with your ideas and requests, or email me at joyfulcreationsblog22@gmail.com. I run this blog for you, so I want to hear your ideas!!
  2. Articles on theReb. This is a huge goal. I will be working on posting regularly on theReb, so keep an eye out for updates!
  3. Book Reviews. Girls, it’s official! I am a reviewer for Crossway publishing! I can review up to 12 books a year, and I’m so excited to start!I

Thanks for being amazing readers, and I look forward to 2020 with all of you! Happy New Year!

  1. I love theReb! I’ve been wanting to submit something to theReb! Do you have any pointers? And congrats on all the exciting things happening in 2020!

    1. That’s so cool, Abi Lyn! Thank you! Hmm… pointers… I’m flattered you would ask me! I would say to start with a topic you are passionate about or are willing to research. You will want a topic that has enough information because theReb requires every article to be at least 600 words. It is also key to have your parents read it over for mistakes and confusing sentences. Also, don’t be discouraged if you don’t get your first submission accepted. I’ve had an article declined before, and it was disappointing. But don’t let that stop you!😉 I would suggest following the entry guidelines as much as possible too. You can find them here: https://www.therebelution.com/submit-content/
I hope you get an article on there!😃

  3. “When I look back and see how much has happened, I am so thankful to God! He is the One who has given me the ability to write, and He is the One who teaches me the lessons I write about!” You are an amazing testimony! As I read your words, you give God all glory! I see that He really has given you an ability to write and you do it well. God bless you as you strive to reach your goals for 2020. 🙂 Go Rachel!!

    1. Thank you so much, Ms. Ream! Your kind words mean so much. It’s all I can do to give God the glory… on the internet, I can’t pull people to read what they need to hear, and I could never change their hearts. It’s so amazing to rely on God to bring the right people along! God bless!
