Now that the school year is about to resume, you might consider creating an organizer for all of your writing supplies. When you are done with this project you won’t regret making it. Before you begin you will need to gather:
- Fabric (three kinds, one printed and two solid colored)
- Scissors or a rotary tool
- A cutting mat
- Sewing pins
- Rick-Rack
- A seam ripper
- Pincushion (Optional)
Cut: The printed fabric and one of the solid color fabrics (1) 20 x 10 in., then cut the second solid color fabric (2) 18 x 8 in. and another piece of the same color fabric 18 x 5 in.
TIME TO START SEWING!
First sew #2 fabric pieces together to make one long pocket, then sew the #2 fabric pocket to the right side of the printed fabric. Now begin sewing lines up and down your pocket (this will make the spaces for your pencils, pens and crayons).
Now for sewing the back and the rick-rack onto the printed fabric: Start by pinning the back on, with the rick-rack in between the two pieces of fabric (right sides facing each other).
Carefully sew the rick-rack and fabric together, and leave 6 inches not sewn. Then turn it inside out.
Sew all the way around the pencil holder and there you go, you now have a cute, homemade pencil holder!!
man, you’re very creative were did you learn to make the rings ???
